Personal information
Dr Anna Martinez is one of UK’s leading Paediatric Dermatologist and honorary Associate Professor at Great Ormond Street Hospital. In 2025 she was awarded both the top level National Clinical Impact Award for her contributions to the NHS and voted consultant of the year for her directorate.
From 2018 to 2021 Anna was Clinical Lead of the Paediatric Dermatology Service at Great Ormond Street Hospital and is currently dermatology Clinical Lead at the Portland Hospital.


Anna practices privately at Allergy Centre of Excellence, The Portland Hospital for Women and Children and at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Anna is an expert in managing all aspects of children’s skin disorders, in particular severe eczema, birthmarks and vascular anomalies. She also specialises in managing rare skin disorders such as skin fragility disorders, ichthyoses and Netherton syndrome. Anna has set up the combined dermatology allergy service at GOSH
Academic background
Dr Martinez completed her qualifications, MBBS, MRCP and FRCPCH, at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London in 1991. Her many years of clinical experience and extensive education make her an expert within her field.
Anna’s academic and research portfolio is recognised world-wide. She publishes extensively and is chief investigate and principle investigator in numerous clinical trials into novel therapies for children with skin diseases. She is Ambassador for DEBRA UK, medical adviser for The Ichthyosis Support Group and has appeared recently on the BBC news announcing the promising results of her clinical trial for a new therapy to treat children with Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis bullosa.
